The stomach in love behaves like a body drowning in alcohol: it swells with butterflies, churns with desire and becomes intoxicated by every sensation. But there is a point when the sweetness ferments, the butterflies turn into something crawling beneath the skin, and the stomach begins to reject its own intoxication. Perhaps love is another form of excess! Until even the body wants to expel what the heart cannot stop consuming.
