In this painting I have treated the green matter as a body that draws its breath from the light.
The concentration of colors is not intuitive, but anatomical:
green carries the weight of the composition, the pigment that lives in the leaves and in the pea fruit.
White preserves the memory of the flower, its state before materialization.
While yellow, in a smaller percentage, represents the element of ripening. The presence of light as an act, not as a form.
Within the structure, the brushstrokes build a circulatory system of energy, where each pictorial layer functions as a cell that reacts to light.
The painting does not describe nature, but its internal process.
The moment when the nourishing matter begins to become aware of its existence, of the vitality it preserves.
“Green Flesh” is the experience of a spirit that exists between light and matter.
Between that which nourishes and that which is nourished.
